That’s when a significant event occurred: America started moving across the country in droves, aided by buses. Well, they weren’t just ordinary buses; they were comfortable vehicles designed for long-distance travel.
You may wonder why this matters, especially since by that time America had a well-developed rail network and the highest number of private cars. Yet, it was the bus that became the main engine of progress during this period.
Of course, this is a metaphor. At that time, many social and economic factors influenced the movement of people far more than the availability of buses. Nevertheless, while many other symbols have faded from memory, buses remain a lasting reflection of that era.
