Almost the entire canvas is white, done in a thick, scraped impasto, except for a figure in a brown coat walking across it, and on the ground in front of her is a small dark shape that reads like a dog on a leash. Both are dissolved into a snowy white surface, the edges scratched and blurred, so that the scene barely holds together.
