I recently came across a thought-provoking aphorism that has a delightful ring to it in its original French: “Don’t say how many years you’ve lived; say what you’ve lived for.”
This saying really struck a chord with me, even though it didn’t necessarily reveal anything new. I realized that life isn’t just about having a purpose. It’s also about the ability to fulfill that purpose.
Or, sometimes, it’s simply about existing, much like this plant. At least it serves a purpose in its own way.
