Height Test in a Private Interior
This painting has found its place in a private interior
After leaving the studio, this painting found its place in a collector’s home, where it now lives among other artworks.
The collector later shared how naturally the work integrated into the space and how strongly it stands out within the interior.
Moments like this remind me that a painting continues its life long after it is finished.
Very well put, Igor — I’d never thought about it that way before, but it’s absolutely true. Every painting begins with an image or a thought in the artist’s mind, and gradually finds its way onto the canvas.
But that’s only the beginning of its journey. I still remember the moment I first encountered each of my paintings — the feeling at the time, and in the days that followed, right up to the moment I decided to bring them home. And once there, they continue to live on, evoking feelings, thoughts, and conversations.
