I didn’t specify where the jump takes place. Of course, this is a contextual retro painting, and it should be understood in reference to a specific era. For me, that era is the pre-war period of the last century, when sport meant much more than just competition.
It strongly reminds me of our time, especially in totalitarian countries, where sport is primarily an instrument of politics — a demonstration of superiority and dominance.
God, what a silly thing to say. It’s just a jump. A jump to nowhere. We don’t even know if the pool is filled with water.
