I’ve painted so many pictures on this subject that I’ve lost count. For simplicity’s sake, I’m calling it “Red.”
First and foremost, red defines and intensifies the mood, which is the foundation of this series.
Emotions are key here. We don’t see the expression on the girl’s face, and that’s a relief. However, her pose of despair and fatigue conveys everything about her mood that night. The color plays a crucial role once again.
Finally, there’s the element of drama. Thanks to the overwhelming presence of red, we understand that her emotional state is at a critical point.
It’s a disturbing image, but it’s also accurate.
