There are many paintings that explore this theme, just as there are for any other subject. However, I present my own interpretation of this seemingly mundane topic.
First, I have identified the subject’s age: she is young, just a girl, a schoolgirl. She hasn’t yet mastered the movements of a woman and doesn’t know how to present herself in motion. Yet, she is beginning to understand her femininity and strives to express it.
As you can see, she is not particularly graceful or alluring; her dance resembles more of a smile than a performance.
The composition is intentionally unbalanced, suggesting that she is attempting to fly off the canvas.
Moreover, the room is not entirely white; it is only nominally so. It lacks completeness. It represents not harmony, but rather a premonition of harmony.
