Painting Overview
This retro story is not about me. I have never had either an older or younger sister. I have never lived in the country and no one has accompanied me to and from the school.
If however this story was about me, that’s what it would have looked like to me. When my mother is absent, the older sister replaces her and understands all of the responsibility that is to be taken. She does it in full and takes care of herself.
The younger brother unwillingly accepts the fact that roles have been reversed. Actually he does it more doomfully than happily.
I know this firsthand. I had an older brother. He didn’t take care of me, that was a good thing. He enjoyed beating me and I beat him. That’s the way boys are growing up.
Still having an older sister is much better than having a brother.
