The fact that you were born in this territory doesn’t make you great // Igor Shulman

Igor Shulman is a contemporary Russian artist known for his participation in the “Witnesses” project and his view of the war in Ukraine. After the beginning of the war, he was unable to create for almost six months. But then he started creating again, and that’s how the “Invasion” exhibition appeared. Shulman believes that in Russia today, there is a favorable ground for war, because it has been nourished by the bacteria of hatred, and those who fight are paid three times more than those who do not. He fears that the war will last longer than he thinks and that Putin will continue to live and rule.
